Does the 3D/4D ultrasound replace that of my gynecologist’s?

Certainly not! Your doctor is the most important part of your pre-natal care. Controlling and monitoring the ongoing health of your baby is essential. It is vital that the baby’s organs, and bones are checked as well as the placenta, amniotic fluid and position of the baby. Obviously, it takes years of training and skill for this important job and your doctor’s exams are irreplaceable.

Why doesn’t my doctor propose the same services as EchoBaby?

Some of your doctors may have a 3D machine like us. They may also enjoy giving you a copy of one of the beautiful images of your baby. However, in fulfilling their important medical role, 2D is what is essential to them. At EchoBaby, we have the time to satisfy your curiosity, wonder and bonding desires. The setting is homey and your family and friends may participate if you’d like them to.

What is 3D/4D ultrasound?

The part of the machine that is maneuvered over your belly contains a probe that provides a « surface sweeping » action. This is what allows us to see the face, hands and body with skin three dimensionally. The « 4D » refers to time, thus it is the same as saying 3D live.

Is it dangerous for my baby?

Ultrasounds have been used for more than 30 years now. There have been no confirmed reports of negative effects to this date. Although the insurance companies reimburse only 2 ultrasounds per pregnancy, some gynecologists use this technology for many of your pregnancy check-ups. In any case, at EchoBaby, we limit the ultrasound use to 15-20 minutes.

Can you tell me the sex of my baby?

Many of you already know, some of you are almost sure and others don’t want to know at all. We will totally respect your desire to look or not look and will ask you before the session begins. Sometimes, however, the position of your baby’s legs may not enable a clear view. We will try our best and will only say something if it’s 100% certain.

Can you guarantee the beautiful images like on your website?

The images on our website come from our clients. The quality of the image depends on the position of the baby in your uterus, the amount of amniotic fluid, and other minor factors that are out of our control. If we see that the position of your baby will not allow a fruitful session, we will propose that you come back as the position can frequently change. Quality and customer satisfaction is very important to us and we have high standards.

Will the insurance reimburse me?

No. They only reimburse the doctor for medical procedures. This is for pure joy !
